The Jordan, is one of AHC’S affordable apartment communities located at the intersection of N. Wakefield Road and Wilson Boulevard in Arlington. Bowman provided survey, engineering and landscape architecture services to this award winning project which features a landscape courtyard and a public linear walkway.
Recognized for its design excellence, The Jordan features a landscape courtyard with water play area for children, a BBQ grilling area, as well as a public memorial garden walkway.
As a way to commemorate Ellen Bozaman, a visionary Arlington leader for nearly six decades, AHC requested Bowman Consulting’s environmental graphics services to design Ellen’s Trace, a memorial garden along the site’s linear walkway that celebrates Bozman’s contributions to the county.
Bowman designed a series of glass and stainless steel curved signs spread along the length of the walkway.
Each sign represents Bozman’s contribution to the county which was organized in five different categories: human rights, local government, urban development, health & welfare and affordable housing.
