Although West Virginia doesn’t seize the spotlight as often as some larger states, it has several notable geological, cultural and historical distinctions. On top of being an important hub for natural energy resources and outdoor recreation (75% of the state is forest), the Mountain State produces 15% of the total coal used nationwide, and is home to one of the world’s first suspension bridges built in Wheeling in November 1849! West Virginia also has the New River Gorge Bridge, which is the longest steel arch bridge in the Western Hemisphere at 1,700 ft. Case in point, West Virginia is a perfect place for civil engineering! At over 65 locations throughout the eastern United States, our team designed modifications to air traffic control towers’ (ATCT) fire and life safety systems in order to comply with new OSHA standards and FAA criteria.

U.S. Silica Inventory Verification

Our team was hired by U.S. Silica, a nationwide sand and aggregate company, to conduct volume analysis on stockpiles as a third-party inventory verification. We have performed volume analysis scans every quarter since 2014 in various states, including Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, North Dakota, and Montana.

Navy CLEAN 8012 & 9000

Provided surveying services for 15 projects including surveying anomalies at Site Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) sites, surveying in support of munitions response activities, location and stake out of groundwater screening and injection locations and more.

Scope included a Land Development Unit plan with layouts for stormwater and sanitary sewers, topographic and route surveys, land records research, easement and right-of-way acquisi-tions, supplemental landscape plans, conceptual design development and evaluation, final construc-tion drawing preparation, construction administration, construction stakeout, and more.
