This project involved the engineering/condition assessment of VDOT’s Safety Rest Areas water and wastewater facilities, totaling 21 different facilities throughout the Commonwealth. This effort included site visits, data collection, condition assessments, evaluation of capacities, review and analysis of performance data, DMRs, inspection reports, Operations and Maintenance manuals and process evaluations. Deliverable was a comprehensive review of the existing facilities with recommendations for upgrade with cost estimates and preliminary designs.
Water System Improvements at VDOT’s Goochland Safety Rest Area, Goochland County, Virginia. This project involved engineering services for the replacement of the existing water systems that serve the VDOT Eastbound Lane (EBL) and Westbound Lane (WBL) Safety Rest Areas (SRAs) located on I-64 in Goochland County Virginia. The project included preparation of a PER for both systems and the final design of the water systems for both SRA’s including detailed design of the storage tank, piping, valves, chemical feed systems, the iron and manganese treatment system, the mechanical and electrical designs and the site designs.
