Safety is a top priority for Bowman and one of our firm’s cultural values. Every day, we stress the importance of working safely to ensure our staff return home to their loved ones each night.
Managed by our corporate Safety Director, Bowman staff are well-versed and able to fully comply with client and vendor safety plans across multiple market sectors. We have a zero-tolerance mindset and take a proactive approach to the well-being of all our teams across the country. As part of our project management procedures, we inventory all personnel, vehicles, safety equipment, and use our Job Safety Analysis (JSA) app to assess and eliminate all job hazards to the best of our ability before starting work each day. Our employees are certified in OSHA 10 or OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, and participate in 10 hours of Bowman internal safety training annually. Bowman also conducts weekly safety meetings with our teams to discuss safety measures to ensure that every task is carried out safely and successfully.
Safety is an ongoing effort that must become a mindset, habit, lifestyle and decision that guides us every day. When that philosophy is understood, we begin to think about safety differently.
The EMR (Experience Modification Rating) is an industry safety rating, and a company with an EMR below 1.00 is considered to have a very good safety record. Bowman consistently ranks well below the 1.00 industry marker, which is due to our unwavering commitment to safety and our continued focus on creating safe work environments.
