CAFA Inc. established their first public charter school in July 2003 with a vision to provide a well-rounded, rigorous academic environment combined with a dynamic performing arts program that exposes each child, kindergarten through 12th grade, to the arts. Since that time, they have established four additional schools, including a high school facility. Bowman provided land planning and entitlement services, survey and civil improvement design services for the new Classic & Fine Arts Academy in Gilbert. The new junior/senior high school set on 6 acres offers an outdoor sport court, an indoor 500-seat auditorium, and 29 classrooms for grades 9 through 12, with a maximum enrollment of 800 students. The project included design of on-site and off-site stormwater retention, construction of off-site improvements for sidewalk and driveway entrances on both Recker Road and Warner Road, and traffic signal design at the intersection. Bowman continued to provide support during the construction phase of the project through site meetings, response to contractor Requests for Information, as-built certification and coordination of dry utilities construction. Just west of the high school is a K-6 facility, Learning Foundation Performing Arts, which Bowman provided survey and design services for.
