Desert Wind Farm

Pasquotank and Perquimans Counties, NC

Bowman provided surveying services for this commercial-scale wind farm proposed in coastal North Carolina. The 330-megawatt wind farm has 150 turbines, which is expected to generate enough electricity to power between 55,000 – 70,000 homes in the region. Bowman completed an ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey in 2011 on this 25,000+ acre wind farm site. Our crews coordinated with the aerial Lidar mapping company to set about 20 aerial control monuments and aerial panels, and provided two continuously operating ground-based GPS receivers during the Lidar flight. Bowman performed updates and recertification to the original ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey previously prepared by our own team on a land assemblage consisting of 64 parcels. This assemblage included 5 new parcels. Additionally, Bowman performed an as-built (post-construction) ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey on the same 64 parcels.
