The Seminole Tribe of Florida desired to expand their access and amenities at their Hollywood Hard Rock Casino location to their premier clients. As part of major renovations to the Casino and Hotel, the Tribe wanted to build a heliport facility that could accommodate up to a 12,500 lb helicopter. The heliport facility was to be atop their existing multi-story parking garage. Bowman led a team consisting of aviation consultants, structural engineers and MEP engineers to design an all-aluminum helipad structure that met FAA and ADA guidelines and provided a proper arrival experience to their premier clients befitting of the Seminole Tribe of Florida and Hard Rock Casino Brands. Bowman developed construction plans and a fly-through video of the project based on Bowman’s laser scan of the parking garage. During construction, the design team worked closely with the general contractor and the helipad equipment supplier in coordination with the Tribal Gaming, Aviation, Environmental, Fire Rescue and Building Departments to complete the project while keeping the parking garage open and in time for the opening of the major upgrade undertaken at the Hollywood Casino.
