Bowman was contracted to provide engineering services for a proposed overpass to separate haul truck traffic on a ROM Haul Road and light vehicle traffic on a mine access road. The overpass allows efficient and safe mine site traffic circulation by eliminating a Haul Road and light vehicle traffic road intersection.
The work was conducted in two phases. Phase 1 was a scoping study to define the tunnel materials, tunnel geometry and alignment for the diversion of light vehicle traffic. Phase 2 was the location and design of structures selected during the scoping study, and preparation of construction drawings, cost estimates and material take offs. Bowman also provided CQA services during the construction phase of the project.
