Bowman was contracted by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to document conditions, economic significance and opportunities for improvements along a 400-mile portion the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW).
Our team coordinated with local navigation districts, ports and agencies to collect data and develop the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway Report to the 90th Legislature. The report documents the waterway’s role in moving over 70 million tons of cargo annually and its impact on tourism, recreation and coastal resilience.
In partnership with Martin & Associates, Bowman developed interactive dashboards, economic summaries and maps that visualize where and how the GIWW drives growth across Texas.
