Port of Corpus Christi Truck Congestion Management

Corpus Christi, TX

Bowman is leading a study for the Port of Corpus Christi Authority (PCCA) to identify and implement congestion management strategies for truck traffic serving port terminals during peak grain export operations. The project focuses on improving truck flow, operational predictability and safety along the primary port access corridor during the ADM grain season.

The team is conducting data collection, stakeholder coordination and operational analysis to understand corridor conditions and freight movement patterns. Bowman is working with port stakeholders, terminal operators and corridor users to evaluate existing truck movements and identify opportunities to improve coordination across the freight system.

Based on these findings, the team is developing and piloting a truck slot management system designed to improve scheduling, communication and operational visibility among port operators, carriers and terminal stakeholders. The strategy emphasizes improved data sharing and coordination to enhance corridor performance while supporting environmental objectives related to reductions in nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulfur oxides (SOx) and particulate matter emissions.
