Unmanned Aircraft Systems

We use an advanced fleet of drones, including multi-rotor and long endurance fixed wing UAS with RTK capabilities, such as the eBee XSkyfront Perimeter8 and BirdsEyeView FireFly 6 ProFreefly AltaX—enabling our crews to map hundreds of acres per flight with high accuracy. This level of information allows for seamless integration of survey data into workflows and ensurs precision and efficiency in every project.

Manned Aircraft

Bowman’s manned aircraft fleet stands as one of the most technologically advanced digital mapping providers in the industry. Our specialized aircraft are equipped with a range of large- and medium-format digital sensors, including the PHASE ONE Pas Pana “Blackbird” digital cameras, Leica ADS100 Airborne Digital Sensors, Leica DMC-1 Digital Frame Camera and Optech T2000 LiDAR sensors.

Photogrammetry

Clients benefit from our advanced photogrammetry capabilities, including high-resolution orthomosaic imagery, 3D modeling, volumetric surveys, construction documentation, planimetric data extraction and 3D terrain extraction in various formats such as DTM, TIN or point cloud.

Inspection

Unlike conventional methods that demand extensive equipment and manpower while yielding limited and less flexible data, our inspections enhance efficiency and safety across the board. Collecting data via UAS enables us to swiftly identify missing assets, detect broken equipment and pinpoint potential failures with precision.

Project Highlights

Safer Access Road Mapping

Safford, AZ
Bowman worked closely with our client to deliver detailed laser mapping serviced with our unmanned surveying drone. The project site was a multi-mile thoroughfare of extreme terrain that is mostly inaccessible by traditional survey techniques. Additionally, the client was about to utilize drone footage for a company-wide marketing campaign about site operations.

King’s Creek Wind Farm

Throckmorton & Haskell Counties, TX
Kings Creek Wind Farm was a hard bid, multi-phase aerial and ALTA survey for an approximate 50,000 acre wind farm. The scope consisted of a manned aircraft aerial survey to collect ortho imagery and an on-the-ground boundary survey to produce ALTA surveys for all project parcels.

Forest Management Fall Imagery

Various Locations, WI
State agencies responsible for forest management benefit greatly from aerial imagery, which serves as a tool for monitoring the extent, species makeup and condition of forests. Color infrared (CIR) imagery acquired in the fall is particularly useful because it allows forestry professionals to more accurately determine the species of the trees. These projects were completed with our DMC frame sensors because they are better suited to producing the stereo imagery requested by these clients.

Locks CS-1

Cayuga Lake, NY
Our team performed a multi-disciplinary mapping and sediment characterization study for Bergmann Associates. The project located at lock C/S-1 at the northern end of Cayuga Lake entailed performing multi-beam echosounding, single beam echosounding, aerial UAV topographic mapping, GPS survey, utility location and sediment sampling.

EDF Renewables contracted us to provide aerial mapping survey services for a new solar facility to be constructed on an old power plant site. The combination of cutting edge Lidar technology and UAV services allowed our team to conduct topographic surveys throughout EDF’s 2,500 acres of land.

Tanglewood Estates

Woodway, TX
The client hired us to create a master-planned community for custom homes with shared amenities such as parks and walking trails. Our team conducted a boundary survey of 169-acres for the previous owner prior to the development of the subdivision. The data for the boundary survey was taken with high-tech aerial survey equipment flown by our FAA-certified drone pilot.

Morenci & Sierrita Tailings UAS Mapping

Morenci, AZ
Bowman provided extensive and hyper-detailed aerial mapping and photogrammetry services to ensure compliance on multiple dam improvement projects. The team was required to establish temporary and permanent ground control points to ensure high accuracy of the final data set.

Parker County Transportation Bond Program

Weatherford, TX
As part of Parker County Transportation 2016 Bond Program, Bowman provided boundary, aerial, and topographic survey for approximately eight (8) miles of a prosed road (loop) around the City of Weatherford.

Bathtub Beach Specific Purpose Survey

Martin County, FL
Bowman provided multiple drone-based laser survey scans to analyze and monitor ongoing beach improvements. The team worked closely with FAA and local authorities for permitted exemptions to operate in prohibited drone areas.
