50 MW Battery Energy Storage System

Georgia

This confidential project was the client’s first stand-alone battery energy storage system (BESS) initiative in the state, contributing approximately 50 MW of capacity to the power grid. Bowman took on a new role with the client, employing a program approach to navigate the project’s complexities.

Services provided by Bowman included title policy research and mineral rights evaluations. The team developed a comprehensive permitting matrix to navigate through the regulatory landscape, alongside performing detailed assessments of environmental impacts to ensure full compliance with state and federal regulations. Constraints mapping was carried out to identify physical, environmental and regulatory limitations across the site, providing crucial guidance for planning and execution. Additionally, Bowman conducted ALTA surveys to deliver a precise representation of the three parcels.

This project represents a strategic move for the client in advancing their energy storage capabilities. It demonstrated a commitment to optimizing resources and improving energy efficiency while showcasing Bowman’s growing expertise and collaboration within the renewable energy sector.
