Bowman was recognized by the American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) with a National Award for Excellence in Concrete Pavement as part of the organization’s 36th annual awards program. The Jefferson County Steele City South project in Nebraska received a Silver Award in the County Roads category, recognizing excellence in concrete pavement construction and project delivery.
Bowman provided project and construction management services for the full roadway reconstruction project, which was initiated following a utility-related failure.
Through coordinated scheduling with the Nebraska Department of Transportation and local stakeholders, paving operations proceeded without interruption, allowing the project to be completed approximately 10 months ahead of schedule while meeting contract smoothness and quality requirements without the need for corrective grinding.
The Jefferson County Steele City South project was originally awarded to Speece Lewis and the ACPA recognition was presented to Speece Lewis, a Bowman Company. Speece Lewis was acquired by Bowman in February 2024.
