Bowman provided mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) engineering design services for the corporate headquarters of the Airline Tariff Publishing Company (ATPCO), transforming a basic shell into a modern, high-performance workplace.
The mechanical design reconfigured and balanced the existing VAV system to support the new office layout, flexible collaboration areas and occupant comfort while meeting current ventilation requirements. Plumbing improvements included new domestic water, sanitary, vent and hot-water systems serving the work café, wellness spaces and restrooms, along with modifications to the existing fire protection system.
The electrical design incorporated a centralized uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to provide reliable backup power for critical technology infrastructure. Additional features included coordinated power distribution for workstations and specialty equipment, energy-efficient LED lighting and a digital lighting control system with occupancy and vacancy sensors, daylight-responsive dimming, controlled receptacles and partition-responsive controls for flexible meeting spaces. Fire alarm devices and emergency lighting were integrated with the building’s existing life-safety systems.
Together, these integrated systems create an efficient, resilient and adaptable environment designed to support ATPCO’s evolving operational needs.
