Bourne Redevelopment  – Shelburne Road & Swift Street

Bowman supported the Bourne redevelopment, a 1.39-acre brownfield infill project spanning three parcels at a prominent commercial intersection. The redevelopment, located at Shelburne Road and Swift Street, transforms the previously underused site into a coordinated mixed-use setting, featuring a bank, commercial space, multifamily housing and underground parking.

Bowman’s scope included stormwater design with underground storage, a traffic study and site access management, water and wastewater design, construction-phase services and facilities management assistance. The team’s work supported new utility infrastructure, improved circulation, reduced curb cuts near the intersection and stormwater treatment through a bioretention system.

The project supports reinvestment along a key South Burlington corridor by transforming a constrained, previously developed site into a more efficient mixed-use development with new housing, commercial activity and upgraded infrastructure.
