The team provided surveying and civil engineering services for the Phase 2 expansion of the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Scottsmoor, Florida.
The $30M project will add approximately 32,200 grave sites on 30 acres. The scope included topographic survey that located trees, existing utilities and all improvements. A radio study was conducted to confirm that the existing GPS Base Station would adequately cover this expansion Phase of the 319-acre cemetery. The team also modeled the expansion using HydroCAD and designed the proposed Stormwater Lake No. 5. The model incorporated the run-off from Phase I and the two existing stormwater lakes that will interconnect to Lake No. 5. Existing GPS systems and equipment were reviewed. New GPS and GIS specifications were provided that will incorporate Phase 2 into the GIS system. The team also provided construction monitoring services during construction in 2020 – 2021.
