Located in Old Town North Alexandria, this “Gateway Project” is a critical part of the infrastructure in the city, as it supports homeless families and helps provide shelter and opportunities for individuals and families in the city.
The designed landscape incorporates a centralized courtyard area providing seating, gathering and active play as well as daily activities in the common areas. Green roof gardens are placed at strategic levels, creating a seamless transition of indoor and outdoor space. Throughout the site, walkway, furnishing and planting details are used that create a home-like atmosphere.
