Riverbend Park, Fairfax County Park Authority’s only riverfront park, has over 400 acres of forest, meadows, and ponds. Trails include a 2.5 mile portion of the National Park Service’s Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail (PHNST) linking national and regional parkland. Bowman provided watershed analysis, preliminary and final engineering design, environmental investigation and permitting, surveying and construction documentation, for design and installation of the 90 foot span hiker/equestrian bridge span over the Clark’s Branch tributary. Bridge and trail section improvements helped to complete one segment of the PHNST trail that meanders through northern Fairfax County.
