Our team was contracted to provide land surveying, civil design services, construction administration and construction staking for an apartment housing project containing 232 units – six story apartment building with a parking garage on the first floor. The apartment project consists of a 72,000 sq. ft. apartment on a 1.66 acre site, which is located at the southeast corner of Valley Road and Enterprise Drive in Reno, NV.
The project was taken over from another engineering firm and included grading, drainage, water and sewer design, as well as construction support during the duration of the project. The project presented complexities with respect to the drainage, due to the fact that no existing storm drain is located in Valley Drive except for south of the adjacent property. We had to extend the storm drain line 275 ft south, while avoiding the tangled web of existing transite water lines and sewer line within the street, as well as power poles adjacent to the property line. Additionally, finding space for a detention pond on a maximized site that was inches from some of the adjacent property lines also approved to be a challenge.
