The project consisted of a 4-acre YMCA facility for the City of Hutto, Texas. Bowman provided planning, layout, surveying, design and coordination, permitting, bidding and construction observation. The planning phase of the project consisted of the placement and layout of the YMCA facility within the first tract of a multi-phased planned unit development (PUD). The layout included schematic design, coordination of all utility service mains, and vehicular circulation within the development as well as with its relation to existing and future adjacent facilities. The design phase consisted of topographic and boundary surveying, value engineering and construction cost controls, design of all storm water conveyance, water, wastewater and dry utility service, and parking and pedestrian facilities, as well as a collector roadway connecting a city roadway with an existing multi-use development. In addition, Bowman was tasked with the coordination of all approvals, permitting and platting with the City of Hutto, Williamson County, and the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ). The bidding and construction phase consisted of bidding assistance and recommendations, construction coordination and observation, addressing contractor questions and change orders, and shop drawing and submittal approvals, as well as construction close out.
