Bowman provided a variety of on-call engineering services, construction and bid support, and construction administration for the Ridgefield Parkway Sidewalk Design funded by federal Congestion, Mitigation and Air Quality funds. The project is the construction for approximately 3,600 feet of sidewalk within the County Right-of-Way on John Rolfe Parkway starting approximately at Gayton Road and extending north to Ridgefield Parkway. The design evaluated the placement of a new wide sidewalk and utility strip to maximize the use of the existing right-of-way and minimizing property and easement acquisition. Significant efforts were taken to preserve existing landscape screening installed by HOA’s along the corridor, and the final constructed facilities must meet ADA Compliance requirements. The completed sidewalk provides an important connection between the local residents, nearby commercial development, and other segments of existing sidewalks.
