Bowman is providing project management services for the design and construction of both developer-led and City-led transportation improvements in the vicinity of the North Branch of the Chicago River between Webster and North Avenues. These projects will improve safety, operations, and streets in and around the Lincoln Yards Development.
Work includes roadway reconstruction and streetscape, traffic signal modernizations and new installations, installation and reconfiguration of private and public utilities, pedestrian and bicycle-related infrastructure, public transit-related infrastructure, construction of four new and/or repurposed river crossing structures, a new railroad viaduct structure and two existing viaduct replacements, the realignment of Elston Avenue at Armitage and Ashland, river wall and walk reconstruction, and mitigation of private property impacts as required.
The team is assisting CDOT with project coordination, programming estimates and budgets, traffic studies, feasibility planning and assessments, supervision and preparation of design studies, analysis and plan review, structural design and review, utility coordination, land acquisition and easement coordination and review (per Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Act requirements), and public/stakeholder/ elected official outreach and involvement.
In addition, Bowman is facilitating agency coordination with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Coast Guard, Illinois Department of Transportation, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Metra, railroads, Chicago Transit Authority, and Chicago Department of Planning and Development.
