Our team prepared design plans for a half-mile segment of NW 31st Avenue, from NW 39th Street to NW 44th Street. The City initiated this LAP/JPA (Joint Permit Application) project to implement complete streets, particularly to provide sidewalk along the east side, providing safer pedestrian access to transit stops. The project included evaluation of several alternatives, including potential reduction in the number of lanes. The scope included typical section packages, roadway reconstruction, signing & pavement marking, signalization modifications and lighting analysis/design. This project involved extensive collaboration with Broward County and FDOT. Our team carried the project through permitting, post-design and construction services. Artistic rendering was developed for award consideration.
