Since 1992, our team has assisted Pike Industries with surveying, site design, permitting, stormwater management, erosion control, construction, and ongoing permit compliance at their various Vermont facilities. These facilities include asphalt plants, labs, maintenance centers, and extraction sites. In 2006, Pike was supported with inventory management, best practices, SWPPP’s, and Multi-Sector General Permitting (MSGP) for 16 permanent industrial locations across Vermont, along with Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans for multiple sites.
Site-specific design and permitting have been provided for several of Pike’s newer quarries, sand and gravel pits, and maintenance facilities throughout Vermont, including one of the largest new quarries permitted in the state, located off VT 14 in Williamstown. Innovative approaches to stormwater recycling, aesthetic screening, and progressive site reclamation were key in securing various approvals. Many of Pike’s sites require ongoing stormwater discharge monitoring and compliance efforts, which continue to be supported.
Pike’s Heavy Highway Division has also been routinely assisted with preparing ESPC plans for a variety of Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) projects, including Route 116 in Bristol, Route 302 in Barre, Route 4 in Killington, and, most recently, for the Berlin and Morristown Airport projects.
