The existing components of this 121-acre park included a multi-purpose field, maintenance compound, six-court lighted tennis complex, multiple pavilions, playgrounds, 4,000 sq. ft. skate park, 12-ft wide, 2.2-mile multi-use trail and associated parking for the entire park. Phase 2 programming consisted of a three-field, sodded, lighted, fenced and irrigated soccer pitch area, with the Gwinnett County standard large concession/restroom building and plaza area. Phase 2 also required the design and implementation of a new park entrance into the Phase 2 area at Collins Hill Road.
Our team closely coordinated the location and design of the entrance with Gwinnett County Department of Transportation (GCDOT) for signalization modifications and with relevant utility companies for relocation of poles and other utilities at the extended left turn lane. Phase 2 was supported by new parking with associated site lighting including at the new entrance sign, and two areas for a large and small dog park.
