Ruby Hill Park serves as a major active recreational resource for southwest Denver as well as for surrounding communities including Lakewood, Englewood and Littleton. This 80-acre park was planned and designed in multiple phases, and Bowman served as the owner’s representative and provided design services for Phases I and II. The project included lighting, fencing, a new irrigation system, celestial themed picnic shelter and playground, restrooms, connection to municipal water and wastewater, park maintenance areas, revised interior roads for traffic circulation, new parking areas and pedestrian trails. In addition, Bowman provided services for the completion of the playground, an outdoor activities area with volleyball and basketball courts, a skate skills area, an outdoor amphitheater and a new spray pad area.
A mountain bike skills course and further improvements to the paths and trail system were also included in the improvements. Civil engineering design including grading, erosion control plans, stormwater management reports and permitting, drainage study, stormwater facility design, interior roadway design and parking lot, utility design, asbestos soils consulting, and technical specifications. Bowman also provided bidding assistance and construction administrative services.
