This project involved engineering design services for a 2.5-mile class I bicycle and pedestrian path. The entire project is built on rights-of-way controlled by the city, Los Angeles County Department of Public Works, Los Angeles County Flood Control District and Caltrans, and being acquired by the city or through a Land Use Agreement with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works and Permits from Caltrans District 7.
The design phase of the project includes project management and meetings, data collection and record research, utility research and agency coordination, surveying, hydraulic and hydrology analysis, and 80%, 100% and final plan, specifications and cost estimate. The city subsequently engaged our team to provide Categorical Exemption documentation and Notice of Exemption; a biological assessment of the project area, including review of relevant data and site reconnaissance to identify the potential for occurrence of any listed or special status species within the project area; a Natural Environmental Study Minimal Impact (NES(MI)); Caltrans Encroachment Permit; Los Angeles County Flood Control District Encroachment Permit; Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan / Notice of Intent / Notice of Termination and a Cultural Resources review. The project was completed on time and within budget.
