Bowman has appointed Gabriel Secrest, PE, to vice president of mining and west regional manager. He’s succeeding Kent Lang, who is retiring after a distinguished career.
Gabriel brings 18 years of experience in all facets of mining project development and execution, including project management, engineering management, risk management, on-site construction management, feasibility studies and mechanical engineering. His ability to proactively manage large-scale domestic and international projects exceeding $1 billion in capital has gained him a notable reputation in the mining industry. His approach and hands-on management style have consistently delivered proven results, solidifying his status as a leader in his field.
“Gabriel’s technical experience and industry reputation make him the ideal fit to continue the momentum Kent established in our mining group,” said Dan Swayze, chief operating officer at Bowman. “His leadership will be instrumental in driving growth, expanding our footprint in the mining industry and ensuring the delivery of exceptional results for our clients.”
In this role, Gabriel will leverage industry connections and relationships to expand the Company’s market reach throughout California, Nevada, Colorado and New Mexico. He plans to capitalize on his strong network to secure large-scale contracts that will enhance Bowman’s presence and influence in these regions. His efforts will not only drive business development but also contribute to sustainable practices within the industry as Gabriel aims to spearhead Bowman’s entry into the metals recycling industry, a sector with growth potential.
“I am particularly impressed by the quality of the team Bowman has assembled,” said Gabriel. “I am looking forward to leading the company’s western regional operations and specifically to growing the mining team’s market penetration as we expand our market footprint. In this role I will be privileged to have the support of comprehensive, specialized professionals making a positive impact on their customers’ operations every day. It’s a great recipe for success.”
