Assignment highlights Bowman’s credentials in large-scale public-sector transportation work
The Will County Board of Commissioners has awarded Bowman a $4.2 million construction engineering contract for the reconstruction of the Bell Road and 143rd Street intersection in Homer Glen, Illinois.
The $24 million infrastructure project spans 1.8 miles and includes a full pavement rebuild, construction of five cast-in-place and segmental block retaining walls, traffic signal modernization and extensive storm sewer upgrades with underground storage. The project will also include new sidewalks and ADA-compliant ramps. Bowman’s responsibilities include full construction management, oversight and documentation to ensure successful execution of these vital transportation improvements.
“Our work in Will County reflects Bowman’s strong resume in the transportation market and the confidence the market has in our ability to deliver on high-value, public-sector infrastructure projects,” said Gary Bowman, chairman and CEO of Bowman. “We value the opportunity to further showcase our construction engineering capabilities and expand our large-scale infrastructure portfolio in Illinois. As we continue to achieve scale through integration and growth through operational synergies, strategic wins like this drive long-term shareholder value.”
Bowman has a history of providing engineering and management services for complex transportation projects across Illinois, including the Mile Long Bridge and improvements along the I-80 and I-55 corridors. This latest assignment builds on Bowman’s reputation in the region and reflects the company’s disciplined approach to organic expansion and enhancing backlog visibility.
