Bowman is rebuilding its mining services by investing in strategic hires while competitors are downsizing due to the global pandemic. This investment will be instrumental to the company as they expand and diversify their current mining capabilities.
“I’m excited about joining the Bowman team and working to drive success for our mining operations in Arizona and throughout the Southwest,” said Lang. “I am honored to join an organization that is truly diverse and leading the charge in so many important initiatives on such a large scale,” he continued. As the Mining Group Leader, Lang will be responsible for quality control, business strategy, hiring, marketing and oversight of Bowman’s mining operations.
As the mining consulting industry continues to experience a recession, as producers have canceled or postponed capital and operations expenditures, Bowman is strategically positioning itself to be successful after the recovery by developing a more sustainable mining business.
“My position was created to help Bowman grow in Southeast Arizona,” said Reed. “We want to answer the call with business development and increase awareness of our mining services. I’m confident that we can be a leader in the mining industry, specifically with copper.”
“I’m excited that we were successful in attracting dynamic and top talent in the mining industry to join us here at Bowman. Derek and Kent bring years of mining expertise which help broaden our mining services,” said Bruce Larson, Executive Vice President for Bowman.
Previous projects directed or managed by Lang and Reed have included mine development, mine reclamation, mine water supply, mine dewatering, heap leach dynamics, environmental site characterization and remediation, environmental permitting and compliance, residential and commercial land development, and site civil design and construction. With these additions to the team, Bowman is poised to expand mining operations in the Southwest and expand into Nevada, New Mexico and Mexico.
