The Fauna Facility Upgrade Project in Houston, Texas consisted of two phases, both of which centered on optimizing the tank to mainline flow. Phase I installed new piping from an existing surge relief system to the suction side of two existing mainline units. A new turbine meter, small volume prover, and new piping were installed downstream of the two existing mainline units.
Our team completed the boundary survey of over 2,988 acres of land in Brazos County for the purpose of creating five new units for an upstream oil and gas company. Boundaries were unique in this area as they adjoined state highways, the Little Brazos River, and railroad right-of-way.
Our team was contracted in March 2015 by an attorney representing the Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch in remote Oldham County, Texas. Our role was to serve as an expert consultant concerning a contested area with substantial oil and gas royalty implications. The project consisted of research and sketching, field surveying, computation, and communicating our findings to the client.
Bowman provided pipeline and ROW design, project coordination with routing, land agents, environmental, archeological, and geotechnical sub-consultants, construction and surveying, and preparation of construction documents including major horizontal drilling designs for numerous road and railroad crossings, creeks and wetlands.
Bowman is supporting local utility expansion via on-call engineering design, construction and permitting of gas main abandonment and replacement, new residential and commercial projects, and other special projects.
Project was to install a new 10″ pipeline carrying Ethane from the Houston Plant to a point just south of the Ohio River located at the NOVA Chemicals property. This project was originally designed by two different consultants. Bowman was brought in to provide the civil engineering component.
Bowman provides design engineering services to Peoples Gas, Light and Coke Company (PGL) for PGL’s Accelerated Main Replacement Program (AMRP). These engineering services are for gas main installation and replacement projects the design of permanent bridge supports of existing gas mains at proposed utility crossings, and maintenance of traffic plans for neighborhood projects.
Bowman was hired as a primary engineering consultant, and completed the design, engineering and permitting for 17 miles of pipeline replacement. The majority of the designs were in major metropolitan cities or urban areas, with significant construction conflicts of other underground utilities. Included in the designs were the tie-in details, by-pass details, complete bill of materials, and service connections.
Bowman provided its core planning and surveying services to design a complex extension of multiple large pipelines. The project was further challenged by sensitive environmental areas, tight easements, existing infrastructure, and ongoing mining activities.
