Tri-State Tollway (I-294) Reconstruction, Mile Long Bridge

The Mile Long Bridge is a critical piece of infrastructure to the Central Tri-State Tollway (I-294) corridor as it carries drivers over two major railroads, three water sources and local roads, and over a major distribution center for UPS and Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railway. Bowman is providing Phase III construction management services for this multi-year project.

The Mall at Short Hills

Bowman provided its core planning and civil design to design the 50,000 sq. ft. expansion of a high-end existing mall and parking structure. Design services included rerouting of existing utilities to accommodate the new parking deck, layout of a new restaurant pad site and integration of deck expansion to the existing site facilities.

Safer Access Road Mapping

Bowman worked closely with our client to deliver detailed laser mapping serviced with our unmanned surveying drone. The project site was a multi-mile thoroughfare of extreme terrain that is mostly inaccessible by traditional survey techniques. Additionally, the client was about to utilize drone footage for a company-wide marketing campaign about site operations.

The Metropolitan at 40 Park

n of a smart growth redevelopment project in downtown Morristown. This site includes a 40,000 sq. ft. of street level retail with 84 luxury condominium units and a new luxury apartment building above the ground floor. Below everything is a 700 car parking garage and a Gold LEED Certified 25,000 sq. ft. office and an apartment building with 36 loft type units are also part of the project.

U.S. Naval Academy Hammer Throw Field Improvements

Bowman provided surveying, civil engineering, site and landscape plans, and a forest conservation plan for this project at the U.S. Naval Academy in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Bowman’s scope of services included regrading and providing swales around the hammer throw fields to provide stormwater management through swale infiltration.

Tyco Simplex Grinnell Commercial Facilities

Bowman performed laser scanning services to observe existing interior conditions of 24 facilities of a world-wide commercial company. The facilities were located throughout the regions of Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Kentucky and Pennsylvania.

Structural Engineering Services for 7 Structures

Phase I and Phase II included engineering design services for the repair and maintenance of seven separate structures. Work included the determination of appropriate repair and maintenance activities for each structure based on recent Bridge Condition Reports, discussions with KDOT staff, and other improvements determined during Phase II engineering.

Southwest Gas Replacement Program

Bowman provides on-call planning and survey services to this statewide utility expansion program. The team delivers right-of-way analysis, topographic surveys, construction stake outs and as built surveys. Includes steel transmission and distribution main replacement, HDD design, neighborhood grid and service replacement, and new development. Also provides pressure test construction, tie-in and corrosion protection details, regulator station design, cost estimates and client/city coordination.

Stonybrook Road Reconstruction

Bowman is the on-call, municipal engineer for the Township of West Caldwell. The team is responsible for preparing and submitting multiple municipal aid grant applications to the NJ Department of Transportation on behalf of the township. Once accepted, Bowman surveyed, designed, and oversaw the reconstruction of this 3,600 lf collector road.
