Our team provided engineering and project management services for this 345kV reliability and capacity enhancement project involving the replacement of existing H-frame structures with taller, modern poles across 45 spans. This upgrade was designed to increase conductor clearances and achieve the maximum summer emergency line rating in accordance with client performance standards.
The project required the development of detailed PLS-CADD™ models, which were used to evaluate alignment, span lengths and conductor clearances under various loading conditions. Structural and clearance analyses ensured compliance with applicable design standards and safety codes, including the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC).
Beyond design, our team supported material procurement processes, helping to ensure cost and schedule efficiency, while also conducting QA/QC reviews throughout design and construction phases to maintain consistency with client specifications.
Close collaboration with project stakeholders, including utility representatives and contractors, was essential to addressing site-specific challenges, coordinating construction schedules and minimizing service disruptions. The result was a resilient, standards-compliant transmission line that enhances regional reliability and supports long-term operational performance.
