Bowman performed acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP) surveys along mapped fault regions of the Hudson River to evaluate water-column velocity and flow direction associated with suspected losing sections of the river. These ADCP transects helped identify areas associated with riverbed sinkholes.
Bowman corroborated the suspected sinkhole locations through multibeam bathymetric surveying, combining the two datasets into a clearer picture of subsurface conditions along the river. The resulting data and mapping supported development of long-term repair and maintenance measures for the affected sections
