Unloading Facility & Metering Station

JP Energy Partners planned a crude oil gathering, storage and mainline pump facility located south of Cherokee, OK and a crude oil pipeline metering station at Cushing, OK to serve the new Great Salt Plains 8” Crude Pipeline originating in Cherokee, OK and terminating in Cushing, OK.

The Cherokee Crude Oil Unloading Facility consists of six crude oil truck unloading bays, three fixed roof API650 crude oil storage tanks, six third party LACT units with twelve 400 bbl third party day tanks, four 250HP, 480V soft start controlled horizontal crude pipeline pumps and pig launcher for the 8” crude oil pipeline. Two 24.9kV services feed 2000 kVA and 1500 kVA 480 V, high resistance grounded distribution transformers for the facility electrical system and satellite linked Allen Bradley Control Logix PLC system and OMNI flow computer.

The Cushing Metering Station consists of an 8” pig receiver, 200bbl surge tank, 4”, 600gpm Coriolis flow meter, meter prover skid, 2 pot auto sampling system and cellular linked Allen Bradley Control Logix PLC system and OMNI flow computer.

Our team provided complete electrical and instrumentation construction packages, electrical specifications for all equipment, designed all required control panels, developed facility cause & effect matrixes, and developed all controls programs, HMI graphics and loop diagrams.
