Bowman Consulting Group, Ltd., a leading national provider of engineering, surveying, planning, landscape architecture and construction management services, is pleased to announce that is has acquired substantially all of the assets of Atherton Engineering, Inc. and entered into a long-term agreement to retain the services of Atherton’s founder, Bob Atherton along with the firm’s other employees. The combination of these two firms merges decades of experience in the engineering and design of data centers, prisons and educational facilities. Atherton and Bowman clients will both benefit from the integration of industry experience, project management and service leadership of the two firms.
Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, Atherton has been providing engineering services to a broad range of clients over the past 30 years. In addition to its strong local presence and exemplary reputation serving the education, corrections and real estate development markets in the Phoenix area, Atherton has grown to become a key player in the rapidly expanding data center market throughout the western United States. With overlapping expertise in data center engineering services and common aspirations for the expansion of their data center design practices, the combination of these management teams and professional resources provides an unparalleled value to the firms’ clients.
“We are fortunate to have Bob and his team join forces with us,” said Gary Bowman, President of Bowman Consulting. “Our cultural values are aligned and both firms are committed to delivering successful outcomes to our clients. The combination of Atherton’s data center experience with ours results in a powerhouse design-engineering capability that can tackle any assignment, anywhere.”
“The timing is right and the opportunity is ideal” said Bob Atherton, CEO of Atherton Engineering. “Our clients will benefit greatly from this partnership with Bowman. I am truly excited about the future—both for Atherton’s clients and its employees.”
