Bowman provided MEP Engineering for a new independent living, assisted living, and memory care senior living facility. The project includes a fifteen-story north tower and a ten-story south tower, all above a three-level below grade enclosed parking garage.
The project consists of a five-story, 94,000 sq. ft. core and shell medical office building located at National Harbor in Prince Georges County, Maryland. The building includes a covered drop-off, loading dock, glass facade and designed as slab on grade.
Bowman has been an integral part of the civil design, permitting and construction administration for the development of two Visiting Nurses Association’s (VNA) assisted living facilities. The two facilities, Grand Oaks of Okeechobee and Grand Oaks of Jensen, are both headquartered out of Stuart, Florida.
Bowman is providing program management assistance to CGC to fulfill their development goals and execute a wide range of planning, design and permitting services for each project site, including civil engineering, landscape architecture, surveying, right-of-way, and environmental consulting.
Bowman is part of a multi-disciplined design and planning team to deliver a multi-year redevelopment of an iconic former military medical center. The team is responsible for preliminary design and planning of civil infrastructure as well as public relations with various government and community bodies.
Bowman is providing a number of services, including but not limited to, site planning, planting design, topographic design for aesthetics, screening, pedestrian and way finding design, design of exterior common spaces, storm water and drainage design, and engineering complying with state and local authority standards, and environmental standards.
Bowman provided land planning services, rezoning, design review, surveying and civil improvement design. The project site required design of on-site retention, half-street improvements along Quartz Street and Willis Road, and substantial coordination with public utility providers SRP, Southwest Gas and RWCD.
Bowman provided surveying and platting, civil engineering, traffic signal design, rezoning, public participation, construction plan approvals, and construction administration for an upscale, urban village style, 55+ age single-family neighborhood, community park, extensive landscaping, and amenities. Bowman also facilitated a solution to provide extensive planning and hardscape design amidst existing easements associated with prior roadway plans.
The project included the development of a retirement village with 1,500 independent living units and 512 assisted living and extended skilled care units located within 16 buildings on 232 acres.
