Bowman provided a multi-faceted planning, analysis, and design scheme to redevelop a declining 200,000 sq. ft. community shopping center. The team was challenged to create a more pedestrian friendly design all while providing adequate vehicle site access. Bowman also provided the Site Design, Surveying, and Local, County and State Permitting for the project.

Confidential Conveyor Corridor

A new leach pad is being developed to meet the needs of a new pit. A major earthwork project was undertaken to link the existing conveyor system to the new leach pad. As part of this project, Bowman provided temporary traffic control and temporary road designs as well as engineered drawings, specifications, construction scopes of work, and bid packages for the earthwork and new traffic underpass.

Confidential Early Mine Water Supply

Bowman developed a water distribution plan to provide potable and construction water to thhis project. This included the design of wells, impoundments, booster stations, overland pipelines and storage facilities. The first stage of this system currently operates at 650 psi and transports water over 2 miles.

Broadway Water Treatment Plant

Bowman provided major upgrades to the Town of Broadway’s Water Treatment Plant. The upgrades included the installation of a state of the art 1.8MGD Pall Corp. MF membrane treatment system in a new concrete filtration building, upgraded and automated chemical feed systems, a 100,000-gallon well storage tank, and a 350,000-gallon finished water clear well.

Catlett – Calverton Wastewater System

Bowman partnered with English Construction for this Design-Build project for a central wastewater collection, treatment and disposal system to serve the service districts of Catlett and Calverton. The project includes a new collection system consisting of individual Septic Tank Effluent Pump (STEP) systems that transfer wastewater to a 80,000 gpd central wastewater treatment plant utilizing an Integrated Fixed Film Activated Sludge (FAS) technology. Effluent will be disposed of through the use of subsurface drip irrigation drain fields.

Bowen Solar Farm

Bowman provided a detailed topographic survey and preliminary engineering services to facilitate initial discussions with Calvert County officials and included a concept plan to illustrate the improvements relating to the proposed solar panels.

Bradley and Carter Solar Farm

Bowman prepared ALTA/ACSM surveys, detailed topographic survey including necessary road frontage surveying. Approximately 25 acres of topography were required on the Bradley farm site, and approximately 35 acres of topography were required on the Carter farm site, as a minimum 75-foot overlap around the perimeter.

Bordetown Waterfront Community

Bowman provided civil engineering, landscape architecture and surveying services for the second phase of this large redevelopment project consisting of multi-family housing with 157 townhouses and 176 apartment units, and an amphitheater and shade structure overlooking the Delaware River.

Cedar Crest Village

The project included the development of a retirement village with 1,500 independent living units and 512 assisted living and extended skilled care units located within 16 buildings on 232 acres.

Bruce Avenue Drainage Project

Bowman provided planning, surveying and design services to the City of Colonial Heights for the Phase III and IV drainage and utility improvement plans of the Bruce Avenue Drainage Improvements project. This project included approximately 6,500 linear feet of city streets. The scope of the project included complete water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer replacement. The project also involved substantial excavation of the roadways within the ROW limits and rebuilding of new asphalt sections and curb and gutter.
