Bowman provided subsurface utility engineering and utility survey services for the Alabama State Port Authority (ASPA) at the Port of Mobile main docks, supporting planning and design for future port improvements across an approximately 24-acre waterfront area.

Bowman is leading a study for the Port of Corpus Christi Authority (PCCA) to identify and implement congestion management strategies for truck traffic serving port terminals during peak grain export operations. The project focuses on improving truck flow, operational predictability and safety along the primary port access corridor during the ADM grain season.

Bowman was contracted by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to document conditions, economic significance and opportunities for improvements along a 400-mile portion the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW).

Bowman conducted a hydrographic survey utilizing multibeam echo sounding and side scan sonar technologies along cells one through 19 of the wharf’s cellular wall face. The survey aimed to validate recent structural repairs, identify any remaining defects and support the creation of as-built documentation.

Bowman is providing planning and design services for the redevelopment of the West End Container Yard, a 140-acre effort to expand loaded container operations utilizing rubber tire gantry cranes. Our services include terminal planning, capacity upgrade schemes and traffic flow evaluations.

Bowman has supported PhilaPort for 14 years across 40+ projects, including strategic planning, facility condition assessments, feasibility studies, capital project development, permitting and construction-phase support within an active port and across a diverse, multi-terminal capital program.

Bowman is providing design and construction management services to the City of Des Moines for the reconstruction of the Redondo Fishing Pier and associated public amenities. Originally constructed in 1980, the existing pier was closed in 2019 due to safety concerns and is now being completely rebuilt to meet modern structural and public use standards.

Our team partnered with the City of Des Moines to restore the storm-damaged Redondo Boardwalk along Poverty Bay. Services included project management, structural engineering, environmental permitting, and construction oversight. Key repairs involved replacing girders, decking, and support elements, with FHWA funding accelerating timelines. The new design improves resilience, featuring concrete decking with wood-grain texture and UV-resistant coatings for longevity.

Our team provided marine engineering services for the construction of Spruce Street Harbor Park at Penn’s Landing in Philadelphia, PA. We provided mooring analysis, preliminary and final marine structural analysis and design, permitting and construction inspection services for this project.

Our team was hired to perform a combined multi-beam side scanning sonar and LiDAR investigation to produce 3-D digital model of the vertical surface of the Troy seawall above and below the water surface. This continuous model produced a high resolution “picture” of the wall.
