Bowman supports the Massachusetts Department of Transportation’s (MassDOT) Local Early-stage and Actionable Planning (LEAP) Program with on-call planning and design services to help municipalities jumpstart transportation projects.

Bowman supported the Boston Transportation Department in a series of in-person and virtual public engagement events and stakeholder meetings to help establish a future vision for the JFK / UMass Station Area and develop safety improvement.

Bowman developed a Safety Action Plan (SAP) aligned with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant program for the City of Chicopee. The City’s goal was to eliminate traffic-related deaths and serious injuries in Chicopee.

As part of a multi-disciplinary team, the team led the transportation analysis and design for the intersection safety improvements project. The team developed solutions to address the size and complexity of the intersection, which was challenging for bicyclists and drivers, while pedestrians faced long delays waiting to safely cross.
