Following flood damage near Elbe, Washington, our team assessed and designed the replacement of the Nisqually River Trestle on Tacoma Rail’s Mountain Division Line. We evaluated multiple bridge alternatives, selecting a two-span steel plate girder bridge for optimal performance, cost-efficiency, and environmental compliance, ensuring a resilient and sustainable rail connection.
Our team partnered with the City of Des Moines to restore the storm-damaged Redondo Boardwalk along Poverty Bay. Services included project management, structural engineering, environmental permitting, and construction oversight. Key repairs involved replacing girders, decking, and support elements, with FHWA funding accelerating timelines. The new design improves resilience, featuring concrete decking with wood-grain texture and UV-resistant coatings for longevity.
Our team worked with SunCommon Solar to design a wetland restoration and habitat enhancement plan of their 1.5 acre lease area. Madbush Falls – Riders’ Outpost was an exciting project involved a complete rehabilitation and transformation of an abandoned old motel and bar known as the Madbush Alpine Chalet in Waitsfield, VT along VT Route 100 a few miles from the Sugarbush Ski Resort.
Our team also completed a wetlands delineation that involved meeting with the State Wetland Ecologist to finalize and confirm the delineation. The observations collected during this process helped to provide the concept development and renderings throughout the rest of the project.
This project involved engineering design services for a 2.5-mile class I bicycle and pedestrian path. The entire project is built on rights-of-way controlled by the city, Los Angeles County Department of Public Works, Los Angeles County Flood Control District and Caltrans.
