Edgemont Ranch Metropolitan District Wastewater

Posted on July 12th, 2024 by sl-dev

The Edgemont Ranch Metropolitan District was issued new and very strict TIN, TN and TP limits that rendered their lagoon system obsolete. Edgemont Ranch lies in the watershed of the Florida River, a tributary of the Animas River. Downstream of the treatment facility are agricultural irrigation reservoirs that experienced algae blooms. Because lagoon-based systems are […]

Del Norte Collection System Improvements

Posted on July 12th, 2024 by sl-dev

The Town of Del Norte’s collection system had significant structural issues including collapsed clay pipes, cracks, and offset joints. This caused significant inflow and infiltration (groundwater/runoff) into the collection system, sometimes as much as doubling or tripling the normal influent wastewater flow to the wastewater treatment plant. This significantly affected the treatment facility’s ability to […]

Center Sanitation District

Fine Ore Cusher – 7B Conveyor Counterweight Evaluation

Posted on July 11th, 2024 by sl-dev

The existing counterweight on the 7B conveyor had a winch system with inadequate lug connections and was rigged at an improper angle, which created structural integrity issues. Bowman calculated the take-up weight on lateral beams to size counterweight box and evaluated counterweight lifting methods compared to the existing winch system. Bowman prepared an economic trade-off […]

Hayden AB-BC TSF Decant System

Posted on July 3rd, 2024 by sl-dev

Bowman provided construction engineering services. Because of changes in the planned use of the AB-BC Tailings storage facility, the diameter of the slurry distribution pipes were reduced from 18” to 12”. This and other changes were implemented in the pump set ups. These changes resulted in overall improved decant system efficiency.
