Bowman provided its full scope planning, professional design, and construction management services to support the development of a charter school. The project required complex design aspects to accommodate the main facility and its ancillary support buildings and areas. The team also coordinated with local authorities for the expansion of public road and utility infrastructure to connect to the project.

Bowman provided a multi-faceted planning, analysis, and design scheme to redevelop a declining 200,000 sq. ft. community shopping center. The team was challenged to create a more pedestrian friendly design all while providing adequate vehicle site access. Bowman also provided the Site Design, Surveying, and Local, County and State Permitting for the project.

Circle K

Bowman has partnered with Circle K on multiple sites throughout the US to provide site planning and design for their convenience store, gas station and truck stop developments. Services provided include site, utility and drainage and stormwater management design, permitting and rezoning services for new ground-up sites as well as raze and rebuild sites. Permitting was with Cities, Counties, NRCS, EPD and DOT.

Confidential Conveyor Corridor

A new leach pad is being developed to meet the needs of a new pit. A major earthwork project was undertaken to link the existing conveyor system to the new leach pad. As part of this project, Bowman provided temporary traffic control and temporary road designs as well as engineered drawings, specifications, construction scopes of work, and bid packages for the earthwork and new traffic underpass.

Bowman developed a water distribution plan to provide potable and construction water to thhis project. This included the design of wells, impoundments, booster stations, overland pipelines and storage facilities. The first stage of this system currently operates at 650 psi and transports water over 2 miles.

Confidential Stormwater Diversions and Culverts

Bowman designed three stormwater diversions to protect a leach pad. These diversions required the engineering design of several structures including channels, levees, energy dissipation structures and box culverts. In conjunction with these designs, Bowman developed method specifications for compaction and a design for soil cement that utilized the material sourced from the channel excavation.

Clifton Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant

Bowman provided a PER and Design to replace a trickling filter Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) with a new 200,000 gpd Moving Bed Biological Reactor (MBBR) treatment plant installed inside of the existing concrete treatment tank. Design elements included rehabilitation of the existing influent pump station and existing operations building, a standby generator, and demolition of existing WWTP components. Additional services included surveying and civil design.

Charles City County Annual Services Contract

Bowman was selected to perform utility engineering services for various water and wastewater systems. Bowman is responsible for attending various meetings with County staff and Supervisors, regulatory officials and representatives from the funding agencies in pursuit of financing for the below identified projects, as well as attending public meetings.

Bowman provided 3D laser scanning services for this security fence project, which is being administered through Bowman’s Master Service Agreement with the client. 3D scanning services are being conducted to capture survey grade 3-Dimensional data on the existing substation, perimeter fence, towers, and associated equipment, including ground elevations within the substation and around specified transmission towers outside the substation.

Chessie’s Trail: Lee District Park

Bowman provided planning, engineering, surveying, landscape architecture, and environmental consulting services within the 120-acre Lee District Park as part of the Family Recreation Area Spray Park and Accessible Tree House and Chessie Trail development. The accessible trails and tree house project had significant topographic and tree preservation challenges.
