Bowman provided mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) engineering services
for the BlueHalo project in Herndon, Virginia. Working in collaboration with FORM
Architects, our team delivered comprehensive MEP design for approximately 19,700
sq. ft. of office space tailored to support the client’s operational and technological
needs.
Bowman was tapped by Florida Power & Light (FPL) to support the structural evaluation of transmission poles accommodating distribution underbuild upgrades. The work was conducted across both 69 kV and 138 kV circuits, addressing individual poles as well as larger groups of structures to assess the feasibility of proposed modifications.
The Fire Risk Mitigation (FiRM) project is part of San Diego Gas & Electric’s broader system hardening program, developed to reduce wildfire risk in high-vulnerability areas of Southern California. The initiative focused on upgrading 12 kV distribution circuits to improve both public safety and long-term system resiliency.
This program provides comprehensive engineering support for Distribution Volt/VAR Control (DVVC) implementation and ongoing system maintenance, with an emphasis on grid modernization and reliability improvements. A key component of the work includes dashboard management, ensuring operators have accurate, real-time data to monitor performance and guide decision-making.
Our team provides ongoing support to Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) through comprehensive system inspections designed to improve safety, reliability and regulatory compliance across utility assets. The program integrates both imagery reviews and ground-based assessments to deliver a thorough evaluation of infrastructure conditions in fire-prone regions of California.
Our team delivered a 162-acre, 15 MW solar project providing comprehensive engineering and permitting support with a focus on environmental stewardship. The site was carefully planned to situate equipment on elevated, dry areas, maximizing solar production while preserving adjacent wetlands and sensitive ecosystems.
Our team supported the development of a 2,600-acre, multi-phase solar and battery energy storage system (BESS). The project combines 400 MW of solar generation with 120 MW of storage, advancing large-scale renewable deployment and contributing to California’s clean energy goals.
